First Half
All teams have shown noteworthy defenses on display and the game started accordingly. The Packers opened up the score with kicker Brandon McManus converting a 22 -yard field goal bringing the score to 3-0. Darnold then found wide receiver Jalen Nailor with a 31 yard touchdown pass that opened the score for the Vikings in the second quarter, eventually bringing the score to 7-3. After that, the Vikings never looked back as Will Reichard’s two field goals at 25 and 50 yards increased the lead to 13-3.
Second Half
Through the third quarter, Minnesota kept their offensive momentum. Darnold found Jordan Addison, the rookie wide receiver, for an 18-yard touchdown which extended their lead to 20-3. The Packers, however, held back with Josh Jacobs scoring a 2 yard run bringing the score to a close of 20-10. Vikings were able to answer Dani’s quarterback receiving towards to Akers ran for 9 and touchdown leading 27-10 at the end of the third quarter.
The Packer made an effort in the fourth quarter to try and come back into the game. Wilson scored a 5 yard rushing touchdown while Love threw a 3 yard touchdown to Heath made the score 27-25 Packers within the difference of 2 points with just above 2 minutes on the clock. The Vikings offense on the other hand was able to control the clock, getting the first downs that were needed to seal the victory.
Conclusion
The Packers losing against the Vikings created a narrow victory but the remaining impressive winning streaks from the past were secured showing Sam’s evergreen presence helping out the team defeat the Packers. However, these showcased were geared towards the postseason and their performance throughout the fight was appalling yet useful towards capturing the win.
