First Quarter
To kick off the game, San Francisco managed to score first with an operating 11 play drive which concluded with a 3 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Brock Purdy to rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall. But the Lions quickly replied back through wide receiver Jameson Williams with a 3 yard touchdown reverse play. Luckily for San Francisco, the extra point attempted to be scored after the touchdown was blocked, leaving the game score at 7-6 in the favor of the San Francisco 49ers.
Second Quarter
San Francisco scored another touchdown when Purdy threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Juszczyk, which extended the lead to 14-6. The Lions closed the gap with an inventive play: on a 3rd-and-12, QB Jared Goff tossed the ball to Amon-Ra St. Brown for a short pass, who then lateral passed it to Williams. Williams blazed down the field and scored a 41-yard touchdown, which brought the score to 14-13.
